Winning Results with Google Adwords is an in depth view of using Google Adwords as a major marketing campaign.

While the book concentrates nearly completely on Google Adwords, most of the techniques and suggestions should work for Overture, MSN, and any other pay-per-click advertising program.

Winning Results with Google Adwords is not just about placing an ad in Google Adwords.

It is about creating an online marketing campaign with Adwords. Andrew Goodman spends a good part of the book describing the proper way to run any advertising campaign. It is just that in Winning Results with Google Adwords, Goodman shows how to do this with Google Adwords.

Andrew Goodman starts out with a good run down of the history of pay-per-click advertising.

He explains why Google Adwords has become such a major choice over its competitors. I really enjoyed Goodman’s very brief insight into Google’s culture. In Winning Results with Google Adwords you will find out who Google considers the customer and why it is important for you to consider this when you plan an Adword Campaign.

Andrew Goodman gives us an entire chapter on keywords.

He will tell you how to use Google’s keyword tool and how to find unused keywords. He will point out variations to check, that may prove useful and cost less.

What I like most about Winning Results with Google Adwords was the emphasis on testing everything.

Andrew Goodman points out the importance of testing your ads and tracking the results. You will find out how to use landing pages to track the results of your Google Adword campaign. Goodman lists 5 common errors about landing pages that once you know about could help you increase conversion.

Winning Results with Google Adwords is not aimed at affiliate Adword advertisers.

Andrew Goodman talks about this out in the book. Although much of the book would help, Goodman points out that many times you do not have the ability to do detailed tracking of the kind he would suggest. He is very much concerned that the return on investment for an Adword campaign be tracked. If you are looking at a Google Cash type of Adword business, you may want to read this book to get an idea of the pitfalls you will need be aware of. He is aiming more at selling your own product or service with an Adword campaign.

A major point of this book is the ability to track your advertising in a detail not really possible with many other types of advertising. Goodman points out the many advantages an Adword campaign have in targeting a specific market and tracking its effectiveness.

If you follow Andrew Goodman’s suggestions in Winning Results with Google Adwords you should have a very effective advertising campaign that you can continue improve on using his methods of testing and tracking.

I would recommend reading this book before you start any Google Adword campaign because it could save you money. It could also help you earn more money with your Adword campaign. I wish I had read it earlier.

Andrew Goodman also has an ebook available at Page Zer0 Media, his consulting firm.

He as an ebook about Google Adwords available. At the time of this post if you purchase the ebook, you will also recieve a copy of Winning Results with Google Adwords. Page Zer0 also has an ebook for Yahoo! Pay-per-click. You can find out more about it clicking here.

Authors:

Peter Kent
Jill K Finlayson

How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo!, and Google decribes a 3 way approach to running an online buisness.

It is divided into 3 parts also:

Selling on eBay and running and eBay store

Using Yahoo! Merchandiser Services and using a Yahoo! Online Store and yahoo! Shopping

Marketing your business primarily with Google Adwords but also other ways.

One of How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo! & Google’s strong points is that Jill Finlayson worked as a category manager at eBay.

I think this gives extra authority on the forst part of the book dealing with eBay. The authors point out many of the fine points that someone not 100% familiar with selling larger quanties of merchandise on eBay may have thought about. There is a good discussion of scaling our business for larger quantites. How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo! & Google also point out some services that are provided by eBay and 3rd parties to help you out.

The second part of How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo! & Google discusses using Yahoo! Merchandiser Services for an internet store.

They run through some of the many advantages of using Yahoo! if you want to sell things on the Web. How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo! & Google also goes through the process of actually setting up your on line store Web page with Yahoo!.

The last section of How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo! & Google goes throught the ins an outs of using Google Adwords and other pay-per-click advertising to get the word out about your business.

A good portion of this part of the book is about Google Adwords in particular. This section also talks about search engine optimisaton for your web site. I espescially found this part very helpful.

How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo! & Google is a book probably best for the owner of a brick-and-mortar business wanting to move it onto the internet. While How to Make Money Online with eBay, Yahoo! & Google does talk about finding a product to sell on eBay with Yahoo!, they also point out that many areas of the Web are very price sensitive. This means you will need a very inexpensive source of supply if you want to sell the same thing everyone else is, be competitive, and make a profit. The authors do a good job of bring this up and working with it.

If you make your own product and it is somewhat unique, you will find it a lot easier to make a profit selling on the internet. This book would be an excellent starting place for planning a move to selling a product or group of products online.

Even though I do not have plans to open an online store or sell on eBay, I found it vey useful.

It has some very good short summaries on running Adword campains and on search engine optimization. It is not a guide to Google Cash. It is not a guide to complete Web site design for SEO. But if you are looking to move your business to the internet, it would definately make you much more successful than if you try to do it without a plan.
