My goal is to make this theme work or buy the full pro version of it. The SEO benefits of Semiologic are unrivaled (well almost). I just need to learn how to manage the CSS better.
I will be changing the use of the text ads. Like I said, I have been experimenting with the system and as I figure out how it works I will be able use it better.

p.s. MyBlogLog will get smaller. I have just been using it a week now though (can't believe I didn't see this sooner) and am really enjoying the ability it has to help create relationships with other bloggers.

I apologize however if it came out harsh. I know one of the main problems is themes for wordpress, if you're trying to opitmize your ads but not clutter them I suggest 3 column like you have but allow it to flow with minimal intrusion, a smaller mybloglog unless you're making money off of it i would chuck the google search or customize it up a bit and move stuff around so it flows better.

I usually put all the goodies that help or have the readers interact on top and then all my crap on the bottom. put an ad between the posts or underneath the posts with the comments field on top it shows more ads but maximizes cpm exposure. (having several different ad companies help) and sit down and go through themes on wordpress. I love using free themes especially if you customize them.

Thank you Amanda. I have been doing some experimenting. I agree that there are too many ads right now. I will be working on better placement.
It is not easy to read at the moment. It will get better.

I like your site but there are a little too many ads for my personal taste. I read your post and it sometimes gets confusing with a site with so many ads is that an ad or part of the post. So I generally skip over it.

You might want to rethink your set up or find a site more expandable for heavy ads.
