I think I’ve got spring fever
It happens to be one of the nicest days of the year.
The temperature is in the upper 70s. The sun is shining. I do not want to be at work.
One of my goals in Internet marketing is to give myself a flexible work schedule. It’s not that I do not want to work, is just that I want to be able to work when I want to work. I’d like to be able to sneak out for a few hours and go to beach. I don’t want my life to be stuck waiting for people to show up or call on a regular basis.
I think the freedom of time that an Internet business can offer is one of the most alluring aspects of the business.
Some people seem to think that means no work. In reality, it often times will mean a lot of long hours. Sometimes things take a lot longer than you planned and what may have been just a few minutes of planned work turns in to several hours. Other times, just the amount of work that needs to be done to finish the job will mean extra time in front of the screen.
There is another aspect of Internet marketing that I like.
Freedom of movement. I literally have the ability to do this anywhere I want as long as I can get a good Internet connection. It’s something I’ve been struggling with the last few months.
Running a regular business often means that you are tied down to a given location.
Your clients are in one area and once you’ve built up a clientele it is not easy to move to an area where you have no built-in customer base. Moving the business a few miles may be possible, but moving to another climate is out of the question.
The idea of running your Internet business from a beach is a little bit far-fetched.
Between the sun reflecting off the screen and the sand getting inside your computer, I just don’t think it would be something that would work very well. Besides with all the work to be done, you get pretty sunburned before you finished.
Still, it would be nice to be able to get out of Wisconsin for a few months of the year.
Hopefully, blogging and Internet marketing will soon provide me that ability.
