James-I also dont consider them as spam too. I also agree with you that we shoudnt mark them as spam. Im referring to those sites with false advertisement claims such as “Subscribe and earn $300 a day just by typing” then follows junkies that you have to pay in order to get a job. Some of sites such as i mentioned even though you unsubscribe still sends such invites which is very annoying.

Paulette – I do not consider lists that I subscribed to spam. I also do not believe it is right to mark them as spam so that they are considered spam by the filters. I just unsubscribe from them.
However, the crud I get in my Gmail accounts is definitely spam and most often even offensive. These guys deserve a penalty.

I hate spam but sometimes it is also our fault. We tend to subscribe into an issue and the next day we dont want it anymore.
